Algebra I - Instructor: Mary Hamilton

Master the fundamental concepts of algebra. Learn life-long problem-solving techniques through the use of standard algebraic procedures. Enjoy the success facilitated by a review format curriculum. Establish a firm foundation for higher math with an eye toward success on the SAT and in college. The class will include working with real numbers, variables, factoring, exponents, roots, graphing, coordinates, solving equations, and inequalities. There will be assignments each class period, occasional quizzes, weekly exams, and a comprehensive final exam.

Saxon Algebra 1, 3rd Edition. Saxon Publishers Inc., (Please be sure to get the text, answer key, and test forms booklet. No Solutions Manual needed.)

Algebra II - Instructor: Mary Hamilton

Mastery is the goal! God's creation is orderly and organized, and mathematics is the language of science! Thought processes developed during this course will aid the student in assimilating logical procedures of problem-solving, even those problems that have nothing to do with numbers! This course will include the study of functions, graphs of functions, linear functions, quadratic functions, some geometry, and fundamental trig ratios. Continue preparation for success on the SAT and in college. There will be fundamental trig ratios. There will be assignments each class period, occasional quizzes, weekly exams, and a comprehensive final exam.

Geometry - Instructor: Mary Hamilton

Our world is filled with geometric figures and we deal with them daily. We begin to glimpse the beauty of the order of creation as we understand the mathematics involved. Take the mystery out of geometry! This class will include the study of points, lines, planes, angles, triangles, polygons, circles and solid figures, and proofs; instruction in the use of compass and protractors; use of formulas for calculating perimeter, area and volume. Creative sue of flash cards facilitates the memory and understanding of definitions, theorems, and postulates necessary to create proofs. Students are well prepared for the geometry section of the PSAT and SAT tests There will be assignments each class period, occasional quizzes, chapter exams and a comprehensive final exam.
