- Mary Hamilton
After graduation
from U.T. at Arlington with a B.A. in mathematics and from UNT
with a M.Ed., I taught eight years in junior high and high school,
and coached U.I.L. Number Sense. I retired from teaching public
school with the birth of my first child, so I could stay home
with her, but I still continued to teach through private tutorials
in my home.
I now have
five children, three of whom are in college. Thirteen years ago,
in addition to private tutorials, I began offering math classes
for home schoolers, as well as Stanford Achievement Testing. Then
nine years ago as my own children began to approach high school
age, because I desired to credential their home school educations
and make them competitive for scholarships, I developed an SAT/PSAT
Prep course.
It has been
very exciting to see God bless numerous students from my math
classes and the Prep courses with scholarships and Nat'l Merit
Semifinalist/Finalist recognition. I believe the Lord expects
us to be good stewards of all He has given us - including intellect.
I believe we honor Him when we "work hard at whatever we
do
" (Eccl. 9:1) and become the best we can become (2
Tim. 2:15), well prepared for any service He desires of us.
